Well, we are officially moved in to our new house and we love it! The neighborhood seems really great and we are close to John's school now. It's very quiet and serene here and we've been taking lots of walks and bike rides around the neighborhood. Which is good because we ate fast food the entire week last week and my clothes are starting to feel a little tighter because of it.
We also went to Chicago last weekend in the midst of our moving and unpacking. We had planned the trip earlier in the summer to coincide with a family gathering in Indiana. So we drove there and stayed for a few days with our great friends Mitch & Kathleen. We were also able to see 3 more of our best friends Michelle, Michelle and Kaido while we were there. Surprisingly it was a relaxing weekend. I say 'surprisingly' because we managed to attend a 50th wedding anniversary in Indiana on Saturday for a few hours and drive back to Chicago and straight out to a bar to meet up with friends. But Chicago in the summer is so fun and beautiful and we had a great time.
Since Mitch & Kathleen live right downtown we wandered around the Gold Coast Art Fair on Sunday and then on to Michigan Avenue for a bit. Mitch & Kathleen are expecting a baby in December and we are so excited for them! Congrats you two!
Here are some shots from the day:

I took this last photo so I could remember how to make it. I thought it was really cool and wouldn't be too difficult to recreate.
