The other day John brought home an old accordion that was sitting unused at his school. It's such a strange instrument but very beautiful. We'll give her a good home even if we don't have a clue how to play her.
Hi Paige - I've linked to you through Kal B's site - in your comment you mention that you love your 50mm lens - may I ask which one you use and if you shoot manual or another setting most of the time? I'm in the process of picking up one of these and to my great surprise there are lots to choose from. Thanks for any help you can offer ! A
Only John could pick up an accordian and figure out how to play it! He seems to be singing to you in that last photo - how romantic! Now you guys can play your own polka music. I could go on and on...
Wow, that's awesome!

Amy-
I was unable to comment on your blog and couldn't find an e-mail address, so hopefully you come back and read this:
I have a Canon 50mm 2.5 compact macro lens. Here's a link:
http://www.amazon.com/Canon-50mm-Compact-Macro-Lens/dp/B00006I53V
I generally shoot on the AV setting which allows me to choose the aperture (or f-stop) and the camera chooses the shutter speed for me.
Hope this helps!
